If you have been on the fence about whether or not you should invest in a wedding album, I am here to say DO IT!! They are by far the best keepsake you can ever have from your wedding day and here is why:
For the first time in a long time, I attended a wedding as a guest and not as a wedding professional! My sister, Danielle, got married this past weekend!! It was an absolutely beautiful wedding hosted that the beautiful Venue at Chilleen’s!! I couldn’t be happier for her and her husband, David!! As much as I love them, they deserve their own blog post (and their own blog post they shall have soon!) but, this one isn’t it, rather it’s about something I realized after a lot of reflection and wanted to share with all of you. It started as soon as we got the link to their registry, I opened it up and began looking at all the items listed. I knew I wanted to gift them something special but none of the items called out to me.
I put the list aside and did some more thinking on it. It wasn’t until a few weeks later when I started to unpack a box that’s been sitting in the corner of my bedroom. As soon as I opened the box I knew exactly what it was that I wanted to gift her. I pulled out my wedding album and remembered the very first time I showed it to my daughter, Natalie. She was about three or four years old at the time. Watching her flip through the pages as she pointed out mommy and daddy and other family members, like aunties and uncles, was beautiful. It was as if I had given a her a peek into a time that she hadn’t comprehended yet, a time before her. I got to share the day our story as husband and wife, began.
That moment is one of my favorites!! My heart was so happy getting to share my wedding day with her! I didn’t want to just gift my sister a book full of beautiful images, I want to gift her *that* moment someday.
Sadly, memories fade over time no matter the importance. After all, we are only human! Digital images are lost way too easily. Loose prints get mixed up, stashed in a box and forgotten. Albums on the other hand can be beautifully displayed while preserving the timeline, emotion, and memory of your wedding day. I will forever advocate investing in albums. It’s more than just a book full of pretty images. A wedding album is a heirloom that will be passed down for generations. It’s preserving your legacy.
