Now that you’re engaged, it’s time to start the planning! Finding the perfect venue is likely one of the tops things to book for your big day. As a Phoenix wedding photographer, I have complied a list of things that I believe make for the perfect venue when it comes to functionality and a space that makes beautiful images!
Your wedding day should be everything you ever dreamed of! Deciding on if you want an indoor or outdoor wedding is important. Maybe you want an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception. Maybe you want both to be outside or both to be inside. If you want a fully outdoor wedding, I recommend making sure it’s during a cooler month in the year. You and your guests will be sweating and miserable if you did an outdoor wedding in the middle of July. No one wants a heat stroke on their wedding day.
When choosing your Arizona venue, be sure to make sure that your venue to hold all your invited guests comfortably. Cramming 200 guests into a venue that can only serve 100 might result in guests not being allowed to enter the venue for safety reason and max capacity. If they are allowed to enter, everyone will be cramped and that will be all that any one remembers about your beautiful day.
Another important thing to check for when looking for your perfect wedding venue, is the rules on vendors. Some venues will only allow their own vendors to be hired for your wedding day. If you have a specific wedding photographer, like myself, you will want to make sure that they are allowed to be hired. When a venue provides their own vendors, it can be a major money saver. It can also be limiting on creating your ideal style. There are pros and cons to both, just be sure you know what you want before going in to view a venue!
