Choosing your wedding day photographer is a big deal for your big day! After all, you will likely be spending more time with your photographer at your wedding than you will be with your own soon-to-be spouse. Deciding who you will book with is not a task that should be rushed by any means. While pricing is an important factor, it should not be your only factor. Here are the top three most important things to look for in a wedding photographer.
1. STYLE
There are many different styles when it comes to photography. That is why it is so important to view a photographers work prior too booking. Be sure to see several samples and at least one complete wedding gallery. You will want a photographer with constant work, since after all the style they present you with is part of the reason you love their work so much. If you like the more “dark and moody style”, it probably would not be best to higher a “light and airy” photographer, or visa versa.
2. PERSONALITY
Your photographer will be spending lots of time with you and your family on your wedding day, because of this is it very important to observe the photographers personality. Do you feel comfortable and welcome with your photographer or do you feel some tension. How well do they handle stress? How well do you handle stress? will your personalities clash in a high stress situation? If you down feel a connection to the photographer, it might not be a great fit and that’s ok, because the perfect photographer is out there and I don’t doubt that you will find them!
3. EXPIRENCE
Knowing a photographers experience is a huge factor in making the decision of who to book. Your wedding is a once in a life time event. There are no do overs. Once a moment has happened, that is it! A well experience photographer will know how exactly to capture those precious moments to create the story of your wedding day! A few ways you can determine a photographers experience is by viewing plenty samples of their work, both digitally and in print. You could also help determine if you feel their experience level is what you require by simply asking, have they invested in a training, how many weddings have they shot, and if they have any certifications.
