Natalie and I recently toured The Childrens Museum in Phoenix, Arizona today with a local high school in preparation for prom season. We were so intrigued that we purchased admission so we could play after the tour. It was an absolute blast!
First restarted out on the first floor where they have a huge climbing structure built for both kids and parents. It was nothing like your ordinary climbing structure either. At first it was super intimidating and a little scary, especially if you have a fear of heights, but once you get over that it is a lot of fun!
After that we headed up the stairs to the second floor. There we found a super crazy “noodle forest” and super silly chairs that were a lot of fun to sit in! These were both pretty neat, but Natalie was more excited about finding the theater area! We played puppets and put on shows for each other on the main stage. She thought it was so funny! Even watching the videos after we had gotten home she was cracking up at them. We found a spot to rest for a moment and read a quick book in a cool cozy area!
On the third floor we played pretend in a grocery store and then baked pizzas in the kitchen! The produce in the pretend store was made of a rubbery material that was weighted like real produce! Natalie thought it was super fun to play cashier. She had a very specific way she liked her groceries bagged too..Wonder where she learned that from, ha.. After we played and baked our pizzas we wondered over to the art section. In the art gallery was a giant robot that is painted a new color EVERYDAY! This thing has so many layers of paint on it, its insane! We got to make a turkey and “Thinga-ma-jig”.
this was definitely a fun adventure and Natalie and I are looking forward to visiting again with dad! Natalie is very insistent that daddy will have a great time there too, and I agree!!
